18U Winter Programs — Girls and Boys
St. Albert SLAM is excited to open registration for our 18U Winter Programs, offered in collaboration with the EYBA. These programs provide athletes born in 2008, 2009, and 2010the opportunity to continue their basketball development through the winter season.

18U Girls — Winter 3x3 Season
Program Details
• Format: 3x3
• Cost: $280 per player
• Team Size: Minimum 4, maximum 6 players (team registrations only)
• Coach Requirement: Each team must have a designated coach
• Eligible Birth Years: 2008, 2009, 2010


Eligibility
Athletes rostered on their high school teams (Junior or Senior Varsity) are eligible, as ASAA restrictions do not apply to 3x3 training.
What’s Included
• Weekly access to a SLAM-assigned practice gym
• Numbered reversible jersey
• Hoodie
• 3x3 training, game sessions, and provincial qualifier held at the EYBA Centre


Schedule
Location: EYBA Centre — 7111 56 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 3L2
Training Sessions (2:45-4:15 PM):
• January 4 (Sunday)
• January 11 (Sunday)
• January 25 (Sunday)
• February 8 (Sunday)


Game Sessions (2:45-4:15 PM):
• January 18 (Sunday)
• February 1 (Sunday)
• February 22 (Sunday)
Provincial Qualifier (2:45-4:15 PM):
• March 1 (Sunday)
Provincial Championships:
• March 6-8 (Top 3 teams advance)


Additional:
Each 3x3 team will also be assigned a weekly practice time in a St. Albert SLAM gym.


 
18U Boys — Winter 5-on-5 Season


Program Details
• Format: 5-on-5
• Cost: $280 per player
• Season Start Date: January 2, 2026
• Games: One game per week
o Games held Friday evenings and Saturdays
• Practice Commitment: One practice per week
• Eligible Birth Years: 2008, 2009, 2010


Eligibility (ASAA Rule)
Players rostered on any high school basketball team (Junior or Senior Varsity) are not eligible to participate in the Winter League.
ASAA Rule:
“To be eligible for high school provincial competition in the ASAA sports of basketball, volleyball, football, cheerleading, team handball and rugby, a high school student is not permitted to play on a non-school team in the same sport during the same season.”

 
Refund Policy
• A $50 service charge applies to all refunds.
• Full refunds (minus the service charge) will be granted if requested before the first training session.
• If EYBA charges SLAM any additional fees for processing a refund, that cost will be passed back to the team.
