Since 2001, St. Albert SLAM Youth Development Basketball has provided youth athletes with the opportunity to learn, grow, and compete in a supportive community basketball environment.
SLAM offers programming for U7 to U18 players. Younger divisions focus on skill development, participation, and confidence building, while older divisions include evaluations and tier placement to support appropriate levels of competition.
SLAM is a no-cut, volunteer-run program. Teams compete in the EYBA league against associations from Edmonton and surrounding communities.
The season generally runs from September to March, with qualifying teams extending one additional weekend for provincials.
We are proud that many SLAM athletes continue on to compete at the junior high, high school, and post-secondary levels, becoming leaders both on and off the court.
Whether players are new to basketball or looking to continue in a competitive environment, SLAM provides a place to learn, compete, and be part of the basketball community.
