2025 EYBA Spring League

St Albert SLAM is pleased to announce that we will be organizing teams for registration for the EYBA Spring League this season.

League Options:

1. EYBA Community Affiliated Spring League through St. Albert SLAM:
• Registration: Opens January 20, 2025.
• Support Provided:
• Equipment, uniforms, and practice gyms.
• Registration Process:
• Handled through St. Albert SLAM.
• Players will be placed with their fall/winter coaches if they continue to coach; otherwise, new coaches will be assigned, and specific requests may be accommodated.
• Cost:
  • $195 per player (all age groups)
    
    
2. Open/Club Spring League (Non-EYBA and EYBA Teams):
• Registration: Opens January 2025.
• Support Provided:
• St. Albert SLAM will not assist with registrations, equipment, or practice facilities for this league.
• Registration Process:
• Teams are responsible for their own arrangements and must register directly through the EYBA.

Important Dates:

• Registration Period:
• January 20 - February 21, 2025.
• Note: Registration may close early if team capacity is reached.
• Season Timeline:
• Start of Play: March 30, 2025.
• End of Main Round: Approximately May 25, 2025.
• End of Playoffs: Approximately June 15, 2025.

Divisions and Eligibility:

• 11U Boys and Girls:
• Born in 2014 or later.
• Play on 10-foot hoops; 5-on-5 format.
• 13U Boys and Girls:
• Born in 2012-2013.
• 15U Boys and Girls:
• Born in 2010-2011.
• 18U Boys and Girls:
• Born in 2007-2009.

Note: Overage players are not permitted. Teams with overage players must compete in the appropriate age category for the oldest player.

Tentative Game Schedule:

• 11U Boys and Girls:
• Wednesdays and Saturdays.
• 13U Boys:
• Mondays and Saturdays.
• 13U Girls:
• Tuesdays and Saturdays.
• 15U Boys:
• Thursdays and Saturdays.
• 15U Girls:
• Tuesdays and Saturdays.
• 18U Girls:
• Wednesdays and Saturdays.
• 18U Boys:
• Sundays (starting after 3:00 PM) and Saturdays.

Game Venues:

• The EYBA Centre.
• Saville Centre.
• Legacy Athletics.
• Occasional use of school gyms; locations to be announced.

Team Formation and Registration:

• No restrictions on team composition; teams can be formed from any combination of communities, schools, or friends.
• Rosters are considered final by March 28, 2025. Any changes require league approval and are only accepted until April 27, 2025.
• Non-compliance with roster requirements may result in forfeits or removal from the league without a refund.

Registration Process:

• Visit the St. Albert SLAM webpage on or after January 20, 2025 for the link to register.

Additional Information:

• Spring League modified rules are available in the coaches' Rule Book.
• A new playoff format will have teams playing playoff games on their regular game days over three weeks.
• Teams forfeiting or failing to show up for a playoff game may face fines up to $500.
