Registration Process

Join the SLAM community! Registration opens at 12:01 AM on June 1, 2024. You can access the RAMP registration link on our website’s homepage at that time.

To assist you during registration, we've created a dedicated registration process section. If you have other questions, our general FAQ section is also available.

Registration Steps

St. Albert SLAM uses the RAMP sports registration system to simplify the process.

Here’s how to register:

  1. Create or Log into Your RAMP Account: Parents or guardians must either create a new RAMP account or log into an existing one.
  2. Register Athletes: Once your account is set up, you can register your athletes. Previous users will find their accounts and athlete profiles maintained.

Refund Policy

If a player cannot participate due to injury, illness, or a family member’s illness after registering but before the season begins, we will issue a full refund minus a $50 service charge. Refund requests must be submitted to the President or Registrar before the first scheduled game.

Our aim is to make the registration process as smooth as possible and to support you in case of unexpected events.

Required Documents for Registration

When registering your child for a SLAM team, you will need to upload:

  • A recent photo of your child
  • Your child’s government-issued ID (e.g., Birth Certificate, Passport, Alberta Health Care Card)

These documents confirm your child’s date of birth and ensure they are placed in the correct age group.

Who Can Play for SLAM?

St. Albert SLAM welcomes young players aged 6 to 17 who either live in St. Albert or attend school in the area. Additionally, youth from neighboring communities without a local basketball program are also eligible to join the St. Albert SLAM teams.

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

We accept all major credit cards. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cash, cheques, or debit cards at this time.

Do You Accept KidSport Applications?

Yes, we do. Please contact our registrar for detailed guidance on submitting a KidSport application.

How Do I Know If My Registration Worked?

You will receive a confirmation email from St. Albert SLAM Youth Development Basketball upon successful registration of your child. If you do not receive this email, please check your junk/spam folder and your RAMP account under "My Registrations."

My Payment Did Not Go Through. What Should I Do?

First, check your RAMP account under My Registrations to confirm whether the payment was processed. If the payment has not gone through, please try again. If the issue persists, contact your financial institution for assistance.

I Have Been Waitlisted. What Does That Mean?

Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis. If a division reaches capacity, new registrants will be placed on a waitlist up to a certain limit. Should a spot become available, our registrar will contact you via email and provide a response deadline. This process ensures that everyone interested has a fair opportunity to join as spots open up.

Is There a Charge to Be on the Waitlist?

To join our waitlist, you will need to pay the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) and Canada Basketball (CB) fees. The team fee will only be charged if your child is placed on a SLAM team. Please note that the ABA and CB fees are non-refundable, as these are collected immediately by the organizations. Fortunately, these fees cover an entire membership year, running from September 1st to August 31st. Therefore, if your child registers for another basketball program or camp within the same membership year, you won't be charged again.
